Little Story Teller

Wow! What a blast from the past!  I have such strong childhood memories of listening to the tapes, whilst following along with the words and pictures in the magazines. I was humming the tune “Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly” tonight and when my partner admitted he had never heard it before, I started to wonder how I knew it myself. I vaguely remembered the magazines, but when I searched for 80s kids magazines and cassettes it didn’t take long to come across this website:

The Magical World of Story Teller

I never got the older Story Teller magazine, but it looks  just as enthralling. I would really love to revisit the Little Story Teller tapes which I’m sure are floating about in the attic somewhere. Dorris and Morris the strange moley creatures were my earliest fictional friends and it is so nice to see the series getting paid so much love and respect on the tribute site. It is well deserved. If I ever have children I will make sure these magical stories and songs getting a lot of air time, along with good old Rolf Harris of course!
